Ball Ground, GA — Two CAIRE Inc. oxygen therapy products have been selected as being critical to a new program aimed at reducing newborn deaths in sub-Saharan Africa. The NewLife® Intensity 10 stationary oxygen concentrator and the SureFlow™ oxygen flow station were chosen to be part of the package of newborn essential solutions and technologies designed to support the major global health initiative — NEST360°.
Launched in 2019, NEST360° is a collaborative, multinational effort working to reduce newborn deaths in African hospitals by 50 percent. Most women in Africa now deliver their babies in hospitals, but rates of newborn death remain high. These facilities often lack life-saving technology and enough nurses and doctors who can provide care for small and sick babies.

Prior to the launch of NEST360°, a team of representatives from the Rice 360° Institute for Global Health traveled to CAIRE’s corporate headquarters and Respiratory Center of Excellence in Ball Ground to receive training from the CAIRE Technical Service team in advance of their travel to Africa.
Through expanding their technical expertise in operating CAIRE products, the representatives will be able to train healthcare workers overseas in the use of these technologies, and further explore and design additional solutions to help address ongoing global health challenges.
